游离 (drifting) — a month of floating between bursts of brilliance and long stretches of aimlessness, with moments of genuine joy piercing through the fog.
journal
February began with the tail end of a Genshin binge — finishing chapters 4, 5, and 6 of the main story in rapid succession, staying up past midnight most nights. The sleep debts and spicy late-night meals created a recurring cycle of poor rest, sluggish mornings, and difficulty focusing during the day.
Work picked up around the middle of the month. The EKS/CDK8s project became the main technical thread: deploying ArgoCD within EKS clusters using node-selectors and taints, refactoring the okj-services network topology with internal-kong-alb, and by the end of the month successfully installing external-dns and the Load Balancer Controller. Claude Code became an indispensable assistant throughout — though I noticed that relying on it heavily sometimes left me without a true understanding of what was happening.
Two moments stood out as genuinely wonderful. On February 8th, a snow-covered trip to Yokohama for a concert left a strong impression — though the tanoc sound system proved overwhelming. Then on Valentine’s Day (Feb 14), the Deco Miku live performance at Ikebukuro: 27 songs, a sea of light sabers, and the best live experience to date. No filler, only Miku and DECO*27.
The Chinese New Year period (around Feb 16) brought a quieter rhythm — leaving work early, hotpot alone with chili soup, brief calls with old friends. The karaoke session on Feb 21 (10AM to 5PM in Ueno) was another high point, followed by a walk through Ueno Park and spicy hotdishes.
On the personal infrastructure side: set up the Raspberry Pi with Tailscale and OpenClaw, got the Claude team plan at work, started the nano_bot with Ali subscription, and substantially improved the harus-skill workflow with a three-layer memory system (session, repo, global).
conclusion
February was scattered. Gaming consumed too much time and too many late nights, eroding the discipline needed for reading, learning, and physical health. The left knee issue during the 2km run on Feb 15 is a small signal not to ignore. Piano practice was inconsistent, and the weekly ミチシルベ goals — books, rehability, music course — were carried week after week without real progress.
Yet the month was not empty. The technical wins on EKS were real and meaningful. The AI agent exploration — skills, codex, gemini extensions, multi-layer memory — represents genuine forward motion on something that matters. And the Deco Miku live was a rare, full-hearted experience worth holding onto.
The biggest unresolved tension: time is abundant, but focus is scarce. The question is not what to do — it’s how to stay pointed long enough to actually do it.
review
- Work: EKS + CDK8s pipeline came together well; ArgoCD deployed cleanly; external-dns and LBC working. Good month technically.
- AI Agents: harus-skill improved; three-layer memory concept promising; claude skills reducing daily friction.
- Books: Gold investment book finished; Fundamentals of Data Engineering and Think Again barely touched.
- Health: Sleep irregular throughout; running attempted once with knee discomfort; diet inconsistent (ate too much, too late, too spicy).
- Music / Piano: Practice happened, but infrequently and without structure.
- Gaming: Too dominant — Genshin, ZZZ, Wuthering Wave, Overcooked (platinum achieved), A Way Out (completed), Goat Simulator 3.
- Social: Wuthering Wave live event, Yokohama tanoc concert, Deco Miku live, karaoke in Ueno — rich in experiences.
resolution
- Establish a hard cutoff for games on weekday nights: stop before 23:00.
- Make concrete weekly progress on at least one book (30 min reading minimum per day on commute).
- Re-start running — begin shorter than 2km, protect the left knee, build up gradually.
- Piano: at least 3 sessions per week, even if brief.
- For AI agent work: shift from “building tools” to “using tools to produce outcomes.”
- Explore social opportunities more actively, as discussed in the 1:1.
sharing
- The Deco Miku live (Feb 14) — 27 songs, no filler, just Miku and DECO*27. The most complete live experience so far.
- Silver short squeeze analysis: the milk-tea analogy for futures/shorting is one of the clearest explanations of leverage and forced liquidation I’ve encountered.
- “如果的决策是基于突然发现了一个早已存在只是你自己没意识的现实情况,那么你大概率会因为另一个早已存在只是你自己没意识的现实情况而后悔。” — a thought worth sitting with.
- Risk is what’s left over when you think you’ve thought of everything.
